Born 1951 in Syracuse NY, raised in Bucks County PA. Graduated from Hamilton College. 1973. Retired after a varied career in foreign airlines and women’s clothing manufacture.
I take a whimsical and organic approach to woodworking which reflects my interest in creating pieces on (or beyond) the edge of practicality. Free form spoons, bowls and sculptures pretend to be functional but are most comfortable displayed as unique pieces of art.
My works reflect influences absorbed while traveling to traditional folk art villages in remote locations in Africa, Asia, and South America. I have studied woodworking at Penland, Arrowmont, and Haystack Mountain craft schools. I currently work in my barn studio in Carversville, PA.
